I did it. I created the ultimate garden shed.
And by ultimate, I don't mean that I have created the best garden shed, or even one of the best garden sheds. What I do mean is that this garden shed which I have created is everything that a garden shed should ultimately be—a perfect mishmash of fun and practicality.
Minus the coffee maker.
There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other.
I used to dream of just having all my garden tools in one place—strategically stored and easily accessible, and near the garden—as opposed to schlepping tool box, hoe, rake, bucket, wheelbarrow, etc., etc., back and forth from hubby's shop, which is strategically located not-so-near the garden.
So it was that, on an incredibly warm July-long in 2013, my kids, hubby, and I worked feverishly (no pun intended) to construct a shed on a cement slab in the middle of the garden. The idea of creating what has modernly been dubbed the 'she-shed' was not even on my radar at that point; however, with a realization of the minuscule area my few garden tools and paraphernalia would occupy in this 80-plus square-foot space, came the realization of the possibility for both a practical and fun space.
And I think I've finally nailed it! ;-)
Since a picture really is worth a thousand words (that, and the fact that I should be in the garden right now, picking peas), I invite you to a virtual tour of my
Ultimate Garden Shed, while I chase my lazy butt out into the actual garden.
