Tree-Trimming Treats

We don't usually do much, if any, baking for the holidays—Terry oranges, All-Sorts, and a salty mix of some kind can round out our snacks repertoire quite well; though, in the past few years, Dan has taken up chocolate-making, and I have occasionally contributed gingerbread men or raspberry newtons.

These tree-trimming-treats were a decorating tradition with our kids when they were young—these, and strung popcorn, made for a delicious Christmas tree!

So, I thought I'd jump on here quickly this evening to share a fun tradition—since we've revived it this year, with the grandkids, who are now old enough to get in on the fun 🎄😊.

We made patterns for them to follow, this time; but the older they get the more creative they'll become.

The original recipe was from a Focus on the Family's Clubhouse magazine—still in publication and being enjoyed by our current Littles.

I'm including a photo from my recipe book (with a bonus Oreo Cookie recipe 😉).

NOTE: You needn't have children in your house to enjoy making and eating these!

We wish you the very best of this blessed season—that you and your loved ones will enjoy cherished family traditions, making room in your hearts and lives for the Peace and Joy that came to earth on that first Christmas night!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!! (only 2 more sleeps 🎅)

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. —Luke 2:11
